The average family earns $320 per year…. just try and let that sink in a little bit, minimum wage is 9 cents per day. Yet the smiles and characters we were met with in Burundi were absolutely priceless. Amina Joe (Nisabwe Joselyne) is one of those special characters, a big warm smile! Her coffee was one of only five Naturally processed lots in the competition. This was by far my favourite lot in the 2019 Burundi Cup Of Excellence (COE), it was the mango nectar profile that really got my attention.

I was anxiously waiting to see who was behind this spectacular coffee and when the #10 place winner was announced, the lady sitting next to me stood up. Without even realizing, during the award ceremony, I happened to be sitting next to her the whole time.

We are super excited to present this special lot to you all the way from Burundi.”

- Nolan Hirte, CEO PMC

Roasting days: Proud Mary roast Monday-Friday during normal business hours.
