He and his family have been working tirelessly since 1986 to build production and expand the market for Bolivian specialty coffee. Their business Agricafe owns and operates multiple coffee farms that each produce their own unique speciality coffee. This 100% Caturra micro lot heralds from the Finca Kusillo farm in the heart of the Caranavi province. Pickers are hired from the local community to harvest the ripest cherries before pulping them on the same day. The coffee is then dry fermented for 46 hours before being laid out to dry on raised beds. The coffee is milled at the Agricafe dry mill ensuring that the Rodriguez family has control over the quality from start to finish. The Kusillo ‘monkey’ farm is named after a cheeky character from Bolivian folklore who is dressed in bright and colourful clothing. The coffee is equally exciting offering bright malic acidity with gentle flavours of green apple and green grape with a distinct toasted hazelnut characteristic. This coffee was imported by the legends at Melbourne Coffee Merchants.
DEEP DIVE +

PRODUCER : The Rodriguez Family

CROP YEAR : 2021

COUNTRY : Bolivia

REGION : Caranavi

ELEVATION : 1468 MASL

VARIETAL : Caturra

PROCESSING : WASHED

IMPORTER/PARTNER : Melbourne Coffee Merchants

GEO TAG DOWNLOAD PDF

FILTER RECIPE +

V60 RECIPE
This recipe was made on a drizzly April afternoon.
