Nestled at approximately 1750 metres above sea level, Kaserem is situated just below the renowned Sipi Falls. Historically, coffees from this region were amalgamated with those from the Sipi site, collected by Kaserem locals and transported to the Sipi site to be purchased. Slightly lower in elevation means the cherry ripens a little sooner, leading to it being volunteered for Ken’s wild experiments. This small two bag lot was processed as a traditional natural coffee, whole cherry spread thinly on raised drying beds and slowly turned until dry. Bubblegum is a testament to Kaserem's potential, given its name when blowing minds and breaking silent cupping protocol with gasps after the first sip. Loud flavours of blueberry, mango and raspberry combine in a confectionary level sweetness. This coffee not only showcases the distinctive qualities of Kaserem's terroir but also reflects the differences a few hundred metres of elevation can make. This coffee is perfect to drink right now, enjoy the very limited amount we have and prepare for many more Zukuka Bora releases in the coming months. Enjoy a cup and celebrate the emergence of this remarkable new coffee region.

DEEP DIVE +

PRODUCER : Zukuka Bora

CROP YEAR : 2023

COUNTRY : Uganda

REGION : Kaserem

ELEVATION : 1750 MASL

VARIETAL : SL14 & SL28

PROCESSING : Natural

IMPORTER/PARTNER : Commonfolk

GEO TAG DOWNLOAD PDF

ESPRESSO RECIPE +

ESPRESSO MACHINE
This is just a starting place.
